How to Sell NFTs on the OpenSea Marketplace

This guide explains how to sell NFTs you bought on HEXA on OpenSea, one of the world's largest NFT marketplaces. We use selling a HEXA NFT as an example. (NFTs are issued through lazy minting only when they are first purchased, so this applies only to NFTs that have already been purchased and issued.)

Automatic integration between HEXA NFT MATIC and OpenSea had been suspended for reasons on OpenSea's side, but the suspension has been lifted on OpenSea2. ERC721 NFTs that can be withdrawn can now also be traded on OpenSea after you withdraw them.

If you have used OpenSea before

If you have already used OpenSea, withdraw the NFT from HEXA to your own wallet, then follow the OpenSea link on the page of the HEXA NFT you own to go to the NFT's page on OpenSea. Simply click Sell to start the selling process.

If you are using OpenSea for the first time

If you are using OpenSea for the first time, your wallet has not been connected yet, so the Sell button will not appear on the OpenSea page. First, click the My Account button in the top right and connect your wallet.

Logging in to Open Sea

Once your wallet is successfully connected to OpenSea, you will be taken to your account page, which lists the NFTs you own. HEXA NFTs are already linked with OpenSea, so they can also be searched for within OpenSea (this normally requires a review and takes time). Select the NFT you want to sell and click Sell to proceed easily with the sale.

Set the sale conditions on OpenSea

When you press the Sell button, you can set the conditions under which you will sell on OpenSea. If a buyer appears who meets the conditions you set here, the sale can actually be carried out.

There are three main ways to sell: selling at a fixed price, selling by auction, and selling multiple NFTs together as a bundle.

Three ways to sell on Open Sea

Selling in Set Price mode (fixed price)

Select Set Price to sell at a price you set in advance. You can simply set the price you want, but you can also set the price to drop if the item does not sell over time, or restrict the sale so that only someone with a specified address can buy it. Finally, set an expiration date and you can start selling right away.

Selling in Highest Bid mode (auction)

Select Highest Bid mode to sell by auction. You can run a simple auction by choosing a starting price, but you can also set the sale to be canceled if the auction price does not rise above a certain level. This price is not disclosed, so you can set it if you want to avoid being forced to sell at an unintentionally low price. Finally, set the auction period to start the sale.
