HEXA, one of Japan's largest NFT marketplaces, has added a feature that lets you sell text content such as articles and information content as NFTs. It is a paid content sales feature in which holding the NFT lets you read the rest of the text content to the end. By giving content the asset value of a digital-asset NFT, you can shift paid content sales from a consumption model to an investment model.

Turning text content (which can also include image data) into NFTs gives the data asset value. NFT buyers can then resell the NFTs. Through resales within HEXA, issuers can also keep earning royalty income. Buyers may be able to make a profit when reselling if the value of the issuer or the NFT text content rises. This makes buyers stakeholders of the issuer and gives them an incentive to support the growth of the community connected through the NFT. When buyers spread the word about the issuer and their content, for example by sharing reviews of content they bought or promoting it, the issuer can reward them in the form of a higher NFT value. And because issuers also receive royalties when NFTs are resold within HEXA, issuers and buyers can both work toward the same goal. In this way, it is a Web3-style system that can increase the number of stakeholders through NFTs and strengthen ties within the community.

What is a Web3-style system?
In “Web3,” a new form of internet service, it becomes possible to build systems in which not only the service provider but also the users of the service own part of the data in the form of NFTs or tokens, and benefit from the service's development and growth by contributing to it.
