About the NFT design
Mitsuishi Shrine, near Tadami Station, has long been worshipped for matchmaking, and because the line connects Aizu-Wakamatsu ("ai," love) and Koide ("koi," romance), the "Tadami Enmusubi-go" train ran from 2015 to 2020. The design's motifs are the waning half moon rising in the eastern sky after midnight, inspired by the many "Nijusanya" (twenty-third night) moon-worship stone monuments in the area; Mitsuishi Shrine's matchmaking amulet (which uses a traditional local temari ball); and an enmusubi ticket that connects you with the Tadami Line. The enmusubi ticket bears a QR code that displays a matchmaking omikuji (fortune). The lot number is modeled on a seat: [1] is the car number and 1-A is the seat number (it cannot be used to board an actual train).
About Mitsuishi Shrine
Mitsuishi Shrine stands halfway up Mt. Yogai, reached by a walking trail that climbs the hill directly behind JR Tadami Station. The name Mitsuishi ("three stones") is thought to come from the three rocks on the mountain, Ichi-no-iwa, Namida-iwa (tear rock) and the Enmusubi rock, which serve as iwakura (sacred rocks where deities dwell), and it is said to be home to a god of matchmaking.
