Media Equity Inc., which operates HEXA, one of Japan's largest NFT marketplaces, in partnership with Tobu Top Tours Co., Ltd., will begin selling the "TOYAMA Mirai Citizen Passport (Gold)" ("Gold Passport" for short), the "proof of a TOYAMA Mirai Citizen who is 'one step ahead,'" from 9:00 on August 17, 2026 (Mon), as the paid version of the "TOYAMA Mirai Citizen Passport," Toyama City's project to create a related population — people who maintain an ongoing connection to a region without living there. The price is ¥1,000 (tax included), and 500 will be issued (first-come, first-served). This was announced at the Toyama City mayor's press conference on August 6 (Thu).

An exclusive community site: a system for lasting relationships, not just a one-off giveaway
Holders can join "TOYAMA Mirai Citizen Community Plus," an online community for Gold Passport holders only. In addition to the regular community that all passport holders join, this exclusive community brings together the most engaged people and will host more in-depth projects and initiatives aimed at building a relationship with Toyama City.
By deepening communication with a highly engaged related population through the passport, the city hopes to lead to new initiatives and, in the future, relocation.
Perks that "pay off the more often you visit" Toyama City
The Gold Passport's perks are not one-time only. Holders receive a "digital ticket worth ¥1,000" that can be used at 3 shops around Toyama Station and Toyama Airport, and the ticket can be used again 90 days after use. Designed to reward you every time you visit, it encourages ongoing "repeat visits" to Toyama City that go beyond a single sightseeing trip.
