The Unlimited Fruit Ticket, which went on sale at 19:00 on May 30 (Fri), gradually spread by word of mouth on social media and elsewhere, and all 1,000 in stock sold out on June 4 (Wed), ending the sale early.
There were 788 buyers, all of whom belong to the digital resident community of Yachiyo Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, and will help energize the town by taking part in calls for ideas and votes for regional revitalization that the town plans in the future.
Yachiyo Town was able to create a related population of 788 people without spending on advertising or initial costs.
In addition, using the Unlimited Fruit Ticket requires actually visiting the town in person, so it also leads directly to bringing visitors to the town.
Furthermore, purchased Unlimited Fruit Tickets can be resold at any time, and part of the resale price provides Yachiyo Town with ongoing income. Since the sale ended early, resales have begun. The highest price so far is ¥20,000 per ticket. The town can continue to earn revenue from resales going forward, so resales are a form of support too.
