What is NFT technology?

NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. By recording ownership of digital data on a blockchain, it pins down a single, unique instance of digital data that could previously be copied and duplicated endlessly, and makes it possible to transfer, buy and sell it. It is drawing attention as a digital asset technology that protects artworks and electronic tickets.

FAQFrequently asked questions

I'd like a detailed manual for issuing and buying NFTs
The manual for issuers is available here. The manual for buyers is available here.
I want to change the X (formerly Twitter) account I use to log in to HEXA
In the web browser you use for HEXA, go back to the X site and switch accounts there. Then return to HEXA, log out and log in again, and you will be able to authenticate and log in with the account currently logged in to X.
A common case: when you click a link in an email, it may open in the email app's built-in browser rather than your usual browser, and that built-in browser may be logged in to a different X account. In this case, please either try the link in another browser where you are already logged in to HEXA, or open X in the email app's built-in browser, switch accounts, and log in to HEXA again.
Are there fees or gas fees to withdraw an NFT I bought?
There are no fees or gas fees at all to withdraw an NFT you bought. HEXA covers the gas fees for sending the NFT to the buyer's wallet.
Can buyers on the secondary market also view holder-only content?
Yes, buyers on the secondary market can view it too. Whoever holds the NFT at that time can view it through wallet authentication or X account authentication.
Will I lose access to holder-only content if I resell the NFT?
Once you resell the NFT, you can no longer view the holder-only content on the NFT page. Saving the holder-only content data for your own personal enjoyment is not prohibited. However, making it public on social media or elsewhere is prohibited, as it would damage the value of the NFT.
What is a royalty?
A royalty is the percentage paid to the original issuer (creator) when an NFT is resold in Japanese yen on HEXA. Resale price × royalty is deducted from the seller's proceeds at each resale and paid out on an ongoing basis. This way, if the NFT fetches a high price on the resale market, the creator continues to benefit. Resellers can also support the creator through resales. Note that, as on other marketplaces, because blockchain NFTs can be resold anywhere, royalties do not apply to trades outside the marketplace where the NFT was issued (this is not specific to HEXA).
I want to buy an NFT in a first-come, first-served sale in Japanese yen, but I don't know how.
NFTs in first-come, first-served sales in Japanese yen can be bought easily by credit card (3D Secure authentication of your credit card is required). Authenticate with your X account, choose the nickname you want displayed and whether to link your X account, and your purchase is complete in 3 easy steps. See the buying guide here
I want to bid in Japanese yen at an auction, but I don't know how.
For NFTs sold by auction (Japanese yen), you can bid in Japanese yen. See the beginner's guide here. Amounts up to ¥2 million can be paid by credit card, and amounts over ¥2 million by bank transfer.
What can I buy on HEXA NFT?
What is sold is ownership of a digital asset NFT. In the case of a tweet NFT, the post itself stays on the influencer's account. If the influencer's account is suspended or deleted by X for some reason, the post itself may disappear, but the digital asset NFT of the post remains and you can continue to own it. Note that what you buy is the digital asset NFT of the work or post; the copyright to the text and photos in the work or post belongs to the influencer. By holding an NFT that the influencer approved and issued, you establish a one-to-one holding relationship: one holder for each of the influencer's NFTs. The influencer will know that you alone bought that NFT. Furthermore, not only the influencer but also other fans can see that you hold it (your nickname and, optionally, a link to your X account can be displayed).
What is an NFT?
By recording ownership of digital data on a blockchain, an NFT uniquely identifies ownership of digital data that can otherwise be copied easily, and makes it possible to buy and sell it. NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. Digital asset NFTs are drawing attention as a new kind of asset, much like artworks.
What happens when I hold a HEXA NFT?
You can own a digital asset NFT issued by an influencer. Holders of a HEXA NFT, whether they bought it directly at auction or on the marketplace, can display a nickname (freely chosen) and, optionally, a link to their X account (X authentication required) on the HEXA NFT page as the holder of that post. This lets the influencer and other fans know that you hold the NFT. HEXA NFT holders can also resell in Japanese yen.
What is recorded on the blockchain?
The token name, metadata and other information are recorded, and the metadata identifies the work, the URL of the post, the content of the post and so on. It also includes information to prevent impersonation, ensuring the reliability and safety of trading on the secondary market. For more technical information, see here.
How do I buy?
You can buy by paying with a credit card, or by taking part in an auction bid with crypto (XYM, or the ERC20 tokens WETH (Wrapped Ether) and WMATIC (Wrapped Matic)). To buy, you need X account authentication, email address authentication, wallet authentication and balance verification. You also need a wallet such as MetaMask. Download and install MetaMask here.
What is MetaMask?
MetaMask is a wallet for the crypto Ether, created in 2016 by the blockchain software company ConsenSys. Strictly speaking, a wallet is a tool for managing addresses and private keys on a blockchain, but to keep it simple, you can think of it as an app for managing a bank account. With a wallet, you can easily deposit and send crypto and receive NFTs. Download and install MetaMask here. A guide to installing MetaMask for Google Chrome on PC, which we recommend, is available here.
May I resell a HEXA NFT I bought?
Yes, digital asset NFTs can be resold freely. You can resell them in Japanese yen on HEXA.
What is an auction? What is a bid?
In an auction sale, expressions of intent to buy at a desired price (bids) are accepted during a set auction period. The one person who, within that period, made the earliest expression of intent at the highest valid price can buy the HEXA NFT at that price.
How do I bid in an auction?
Bidding in a yen-payment auction is completed with two-step authentication: X account authentication and email authentication. Bidding in a crypto-payment auction is completed with four-step authentication: X account authentication, email authentication, wallet authentication and balance verification. Wallet authentication requires a wallet such as MetaMask. Download and install MetaMask here. The detailed steps for bidding in a crypto-payment auction are here. The detailed steps for bidding in a yen-payment auction are here.
X authentication is required, but I don't want my X link displayed
Rest assured: as long as you do not check "Add X link to holder name and bidder name" when bidding, your X link will not appear in the bid history. X authentication is carried out to verify your identity and prevent prank bids. Authenticating does not allow our service to perform any actions on your account.
What are wallet authentication and balance verification in crypto auctions?
When you bid in a crypto auction, we perform wallet authentication and automatically check your account balance (balance verification). Apart from identity verification and the balance check, we do not perform any wallet operations, and nothing is debited when you bid. So rest assured that wallet authentication and balance verification will never reduce your balance or change your wallet settings.
Do I need to pay when I bid?
No, you do not need to send any money when you bid.
What happens when I bid?

Bidders can display a nickname (freely chosen) and an X link (optional) in the bid ranking. The latest bidding status is updated automatically each time the page loads. Even if you do not become the top bidder and win the auction, your bid history remains on the HEXA NFT page permanently. Note that each X account can have only one bidder name (nickname). So if you previously bid with the nickname A and later bid with the nickname B using the same X account, your earlier nickname A will also be updated to B.

Will my balance go down when I bid in an auction?
Rest assured that your balance will not go down at the bidding stage. The purchase is confirmed only if you placed the earliest bid at the highest price, and your balance goes down when you make the payment. Please note, however, that bids cannot be canceled once placed.
What are the contract details and symbol?
The NFTs comply with the ERC721 token standard. The contracts are HEXA NFT/HEXA NFT MATIC and the symbols are HEXA/HEXANFT. As with typical NFTs, they are all displayed as HEXA in MetaMask. You can see what a HEXA NFT contains on its HEXA NFT page. You can of course also check NFTs on the blockchain via Etherscan/Polyscan and similar tools.
About the connection with OpenSea
Automatic integration of HEXA NFT MATIC with OpenSea had been suspended for reasons on OpenSea's side, but the suspension has been lifted on OpenSea2, and ERC721 NFTs that can be withdrawn can be traded on OpenSea after you withdraw them to your own wallet. You can check the NFTs via their blockchain links. Rest assured that there is no problem with the NFTs themselves. Please note that how they appear on external services that fetch and display information from OpenSea's servers (such as Oncyber) depends on each service's specifications.
HEXA does not offer a smartphone app
Please note that HEXA does not offer an Android or iPhone app. HEXA has no connection whatsoever with any smartphone app named "HEXA." HEXA's services are the HEXA NFT Marketplace and the HEXA Metaverse (alpha).
I'd like to know more about the total sales amount and how money flows to the influencer

Because a HEXA NFT is sold as a product, consumption tax applies. The HEXA fee is 20% for MATIC chain NFTs and 30% for Ethereum chain NFTs.

<If the influencer lives in Japan (MATIC chain NFTs)>

Total sales: 110% (tax included) = 100% (before tax)
Consumption tax: 2% (the 8% portion is paid to the influencer and offset) → tax office
Fee: 20% → HEXA
Take-home: 80% + 8% (consumption tax) → influencer (if the influencer is liable for consumption tax, the 8% is paid as consumption tax)

<If the influencer lives outside Japan (MATIC chain NFTs)>

Total sales: 110% (tax included) = 100% (before tax)
Consumption tax: 10% → tax office
Fee: 20% → HEXA
Take-home: 80% → influencer

Sometimes when I press Nice and reload, it doesn't show as pressed
To handle traffic, there is a delay of several tens of seconds up to about 1 minute before information shown on the site is updated. If you reload the page right after pressing Nice, it may look as though Nice was not pressed, but it has been recorded and will be reflected when you reload after several tens of seconds.
3D data may crash on iPhone
Due to an iOS bug, some 3D data in GLP format crashes on iPhone in any browser, including Chrome, Safari and Firefox. If 3D data crashes, please view it on a device other than an iPhone. It will display once the issue is fixed on the iOS side. In some cases, 3D data also cannot be displayed because it exceeds the smartphone's memory capacity.
